Waste & Landfill Liner Protection

The EPA requires landfills to use a liner protection system to prevent leachate and waste from leaking into ground water and contaminating the surrounding area. Using a geotextile above or below the liner helps minimize stress and damage. Similarly, in leachate collection systems, geotextiles can act as a cushion to protect the liner as well. In vertical expansions that involve construction of a landfill liner over existing waste fill, geotextiles can reinforce overlying fills and structures. Geotextiles can also be used to prevent fine soils from clogging the leachate drainage system.
